Hakeem Ishola has been practicing law since 1991. He received his undergraduate degree from Troy State University. He graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1991, where he was an editor on the Utah Law Review and obtained distinction in legal writing, criminal law and immigration. Hakeem is licensed to practice law in Texas and Utah. Hakeem began his career 1988 where clerked and worked as an Associate at Yengich, Rich & Xaiz, in Salt Lake City, Utah, until 1997. Hakeem then left the firm and began his successful solo career and founded Ishola Law Firm, PC. In 2010, Hakeem Aaron Tarin, formed Ishola-Tarin PLLC, where they eventually lead a team of 7 experienced attorneys and represented a wide range of clients from all over the world in immigration matters and criminal defense. In 2014, Hakeem founded Ishola Law Group, LLC, and is currently its managing partner and owner. Hakeem teaches an immigration law class at the Salt Lake Community College. He is a past lecturer at Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (UACDL) and American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Ysabel Lonazco

Ysabel Lonazco was born and raised in Callao, Peru. A first-generation college graduate, she obtained her Bachelor of Law and Political Science from the Inca Garcilaso De La Vega University.

Before law school, Ysabel held several jobs in her home country, including stints as a, cashier at Interbank, a legal intern in the Amazon for a nonprofit organization, and a legal intern at the National Superintendence of Tax Administration (SUNAT). During her summer breaks from law school, she participated in the Work and Travel Exchange Program as a J-1 visa holder working simultaneously at a ski resort, a supermarket deli, and as a server in a restaurant.

After graduating law school, Ysabel moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she continued her education as an international student at Salt Lake Community College. She graduated in 2015 with an AAS Degree in Paralegal Studies. She also completed her Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optical Practical Training (OPT) as a paralegal for a criminal defense law firm.

In 2018, Ysabel furthered her education, earning her L.L.M (Master of Laws) degree from Brigham Young University. Her hard work paid off when she was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 2019. After admission to the bar, Ysabel began practicing immigration law, which is her area of expertise. Her immigration law practice includes, but is not limited to, deportation defense, asylum, naturalization, adjustments of status, family petitions, and immigrant visas.

Ysabel worked as a legal advisor for the People of Peru Project, a nonprofit organization, until she joined Ishola Law Group in 2021. She is currently involved in various associations that assist immigrants in need, including the Immigration Justice Project and Alliance Community Services. She enjoys giving back to her community and volunteers her time to civic organizations in addition to her pro bono work. She is a volunteer leader of a Salt Lake City-based - Girl Scout Troop consisting of only refugees. Ysabel is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the AILA Utah Chapter.

Ysabel’s experience as an immigrant to the United States has inspired her. She is uniquely positioned to assist other foreign nationals as she has been through the entire immigration process herself. She has been a work and travel participant (J-1), college student (F-1) and a specialty occupation worker (H-1B). She understands the importance of zealous representation.

Ysabel knows how crucial it is to have professional help when it comes to immigration issues and is dedicated to helping all those who are in need of assistance with their immigration matters. She knows the importance of having a good and compassionate attorney who understands the journey.

Aside from being a native Spanish speaker, Ysabel is also fluent in English and French.
